PLSG decends on staff over index case result release

THE Plateau State Government has taken drastic measures against staff allegedly responsible for the leakage of the result of Covid-19 index case patient which went viral on the social media recently.

Accordingly, all  involved  identified staff have been queried and appeared before a disciplinary committee considering virosity and gravity of the offence committed.

The Plateau State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nimkong Lar disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent in his office.

Hon. Lar explained that, the state government is highly disappointed with the disclosure of the test result, describing is as  unprofessional.

The Commissioner further noted that “government is going to punish any staff found wanting in exposing the test result.

Adding that, the Governor is very sad about the situation,  moreso, this is coming under my ministry.

Government is taking the matter very seriously; this has breached the confidentiality of the lady”.

“I have never seen where esult of patients are exposed to the public, there are procedures, of sending results of patients professionally rot in this unprofessional way.

The state government in the interest of all to contain the spread of Covid-19 and to ensure that all citizens are save”.

He advised the citizens of Plateau to be patient with government and to report any stranger coming into their locality so as to be investigated and takes quarantine centers. This is for the good of Plateau and necessarily exposing everyone to danger.
